At present Theydon Trusts has added to their portfolio of affordable properties and built a new one bedroom bungalow in Margaret Road, Epping. It is was built by local builder M. & N. Eckton Builders and was constructed by Scotframe Timber Engineering in Scotland.
There was a stone laying ceremony on Tuesday 30th September 2014 attended by Eleanor Laing, and an opening ceremony was held on Tuesday 31st March 2015.
The Trust also has a project in Hemnall Street in Epping, where they have demolished the old prefabricated building that housed the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) as this building had reached the end of its usable life. Building regulations information is being put together, and will be given to Epping Forest District Council in due course. Contractors hope to be on site, in early May 2015.
This building will give the CAB new offices on the ground floor and have two, one bedroom flats on the first floor adding to the Trusts’ portfolio. Below are pictures of the CAB before demolition and the proposed building on the right. The new CAB should open in early 2016.
The Margaret Road property is now finished and was opened on the 31st of March by Elainor Laing. The opening ceremony was held in good weather although a little windy. Please see the pictures below, and on the Margaret Road Photo Gallery
